Coin du Roi is the first “société d’opéra” in Italy. We believe that opera has a potential to attract a highly qualitative circle of patrons, able to support its expensive productions with enthusiasm and active participation. Relying on the audience’s contribution means for us also a guarantee of quality. Most state-funded opera houses do not care for their audiences, missing completely what should be their primary mission. We cannot. As a sign of our innovation and power to create a shared alternative, we would thus be proud to be the first “crowdfunded” opera company.
